This book is a must-read for any psychotherapist. In fact, I think it should be thoroughly studied in any psychotherapy training whether psychoanalytical or not. Stein was (he is not around any more) the only psychotherapist that I know of that had the courage to raise lots of tough questions about therapy process and therapist-patient relationship and also about the subject that is still being largely avoided in the field of mental health profession as well as in the society-the subject of an incest. I hope there will be a day when Stein's book will get as much recognition and appreciation as it deserves.
much depth and thought

It is extremely deep and interesting. He writes in a personal, readable manner and is able to communicate deep issues which perplex us all. It is very meaty-not a page turner!
