Loved it!

Veronica Parrish is NOT your typical heroine. A twenty six year old law student, flaming red hair, less than perfect features and carrying some extra weight due to the fact she's forever eating take out. Her life living in New Orleans basically consists of the same old boring routines day in and day out, and although not exactly happy, she's content in her existence. Sleep deprived but on a tight budget, she wanders into an antique shop in search of a new bed. Veronica immediately finds herself drawn to one in particular. A huge four poster monstrosity, that not only is far more expensive than she can afford, but in all likelihood will take up half of her tiny apartment. Still, she can't resist its lure and buys the bed. Valentine Tremaine is gorgeous, charming, intelligent and an amazing lover. He is a man who truly appreciates and admires ALL women. Reputed to be one of the best lovers in New Orleans, there had never been a shortage of willing ladies throwing themselves in his bed. That is, until one disgruntled man decided to put an end to it all. It's been over a hundred years since his murder and still Val is trapped, lonely and unable to pass over until he solves the mystery surrounding his death. He needs help in doing this however, because unfortunately, Val is linked to last thing he had touched before he drew his last breath--his bed. A bed that had been collecting dust in storage for far too long until a flaming haired young lady purchased it. Now all Val needs to do is find a way to convince Veronica that not only is he "real", but that she is the one person who can finally end his torment. An arrangement is made and Veronica agrees. The only setback to his plan is that as the weeks pass, Val finds himself falling deeper and deeper in love with Veronica--the one woman he could never have. This author managed to pull off a romance novel in which the "ghost" and the woman he loved actually have their HEA. I absolutely loved this tale. Ms. Raye's use of romantic and emotional dialogue was just perfect! I adored Val. He was such a tortured hero, and one that you can easily fall in love with.
