Instant management experience...

Ever wish you could have a ton of experience dealing with exactly the problem you need to solve next? Well, here is a "laboratory-in-a-book" for you to jump into, feel all the queasiness of making exactly the wrong move, and jazzed about doing it right. This book is very different from any other management book you'll read/experience. It makes you face the dilemmas as they occurred in the author's real, live Power & Systems Laboratory where every aspect of rubbing against "middle space" etches its mark on the inhabitants. This book is different -- actually a collection of papers (that really could have had a little more continuity), but it is so right to the point, it's tempting to send a copy to all your peers in middle management. This will elevate your consciousness on how management really works (and doesn't work) and why. After reading this, you won't be irritated at uncooperative coworkers. You'll see it's the system, not them, and not you -- and you'll see a way to fix the problem. The book is a little dated, and a little narrow minded -- but I think that probably keeps the message pure and focused. A hundred quick pages. It's a good investment. (Goes great with "Seeing Systems" by the same author.) END
