I think that any LDS person who is really trying to understand the priesthood ban to the African American race should read this book. It is the reflections of the first (reported) black man to have received the priesthood. He shares his joy of finding out that he could hold the priesthood. He also talks about his struggle to marry, when at first it could not be in the temple. It by no means has all of the answers or is even pulitzer prize winning book, but I am surprised that no member of the church has written a review on this yet. I think the priesthood ban is something we must admit was a part of our past and learn about it to determine if we really can accept this part of our history
