Still trying to save the giant squid from Soggy Bob, ten-year-old Andrew, his cousin Judy, and Thudd the robot nearly meet disaster at the Challenger Deep, the deepest place in the ocean This description may be from another edition of this product.
My 6 year old son loved this book. It's similar to the magic school bus in that it is a mixture of scientific facts and fantasy. Andrew has a miniature robot pal who supplies all of the science, so it's easy for children to tell the difference between fact and fiction. In this book (series), Andrew, his cousin, and his robot pal are in an underwater submersible shaped like a VW bug, trying to save the ocean animals from the bad guy. Plenty of kid humor directed at 7 to 12 year olds. Just enough tension to be an exciting adventure for young kids, but not so much that it is scary. This book wraps up the 4-book underwater series. These books come in 4's. This is the 4th of the underwater series. Books 5, 6, & 7 lead up to book 8. Each of the first 3 books in the series ends as a cliffhanger. This book also ends as somewhat of a cliffhanger for the next book, but not as much as 5, 6, 7. If you are thinking of getting this book, You might want to start with the 1st 3 books in the underwater series if your child has not read them yet. You don't have to start with the first series of 4, because all background character information is supplied in the first few pages of all books. Your child can read those pages each time or skip them. If your child likes science and a good underwater adventure, this is probably a good choice.

I liked Andrew Lost in the Deep. The book was about Andrew trying to stop Bog Soggins from making squids into squidwiches. It was interesting. I leaned that a live giant squid has never been seen by a human. It was cool when the power sprung a leak and how they rescued Burrp who is Bob Soggins pet robot parrot. I would recommend this good book.
