Susanna Clarke is used to traveling all over the world for Hardcastle Enterprises sourcing wines. However, her latest assignment has nothing to do with wines at all, her employer, Tarrant Hardcastle, is dying and he believes that Amado Alvarez is one of his children. Susanna's duty is to get a DNA sample so he has irrefutable proof one way or the other. Amado Alvarez has taken his father's land and turned it into a thriving vineyard. The Tierra de Oro has been in the Alvarez family for several generations and it's a source of great pride to Amado. Susanna's appearance and startling news comes as a shock especially since his mother and father are present in his life and as far as he knows his mother has never been to the United States. Susanna doesn't quite understand what's going on but it appears that Tarrant's researches may be incorrect about Amado being his son. Still, she's come all this way to get a DNA sample and she fully intends to do so. In the meantime, it's obvious that Amado's vineyard and wines are first rate and would be an asset to Hardcastle Enterprises so she talks a little business while trying to put Amado at ease and convince him to go through with the DNA test. Amado has other ideas. In exchange for his DNA - just to prove that he isn't Tarrant's son - he expects Susanna to spend the night in his bed. Susanna has heard all about the seductive persuasion of Argentine men and it looks like Amado has the technique down to an art form - and there's no denying that he is irresistible. Spending the evening making love with him definitely wouldn't be a hardship but she wouldn't do that simply to acquire a DNA sample for her employer. When all's said and done and Susanna and Amado part ways there's a definite misunderstanding between them but she figures she'll never see him again - until she learns the results of the testing. It turns out that Amado is Tarrant's illegitimate son! This isn't exactly the news she was hoping for. Amado's whole life has been based on a lie and his tight knit family could be destroyed because one old man suddenly wants to know the children he refused to acknowledge before now. Now Susanna finds herself thrust into the fire and expected to bring Amado to the bosom of a family he's never known and doesn't want to know. What about the mother and father he already knows and loves? Susanna understands the pain that Amado's going through but nothing she can say can fix the situation for him. Will he ever forgive her for interfering in his life? One thing's for certain, he intends to keep her at his side as long as possible, he just doesn't realize why he's so obsessed with her yet? IN THE ARGENTINE'S BED is the second story in Jennifer Lewis's HARDCASTLE PROGENY series. Amado and Susanna's tale is captivating from beginning to end and infused with humor and emotional moments. Susanna's life as a missionary's daughter has dictated the way she lives - constantly on the go, never put

a sensationally hot and sexy story between two very passionate people

Courtesy of CK2S Kwips and Kritiques Susannah Clarke heads to Argentina's wine country on an errand for her boss, Tarrant Hardcastle. All she has to do is convince winemaker Amada Alvarez to give her a DNA sample to prove if he is one of Tarrant's illegitimate sons. All Tarrant wants to do is seek forgiveness and make reparations for past mistakes before his final months of war with cancer is done. Sounds simple, right? Not hardly, as Susannah is about to find out! Amado loves his life. He has two parents who adore him, acres upon acres of grape vines to play with for his wine making magic, and a business that is quickly building in popularity. When this presumptuous young woman arrives on his doorstep with a wild story that the family he loves may not actually be his! He has no interest in her request but something about the woman intrigues him so much he agrees to give her a DNA sample... if she spends a single night in his bed. However, both quickly discover that once isn't enough, and she returns later with news that could shatter everything Amado loves. Or could it? Amado and Susannah are about to find out that even out of bad circumstances, something wonderful can blossom from one night In the Argentine's Bed. I know, I know. You are probably thinking from the book title and description that you have it all figured out... so did I. Trust me when I tell you, you are wrong. This story is nothing like what you're imagining and that's part of what makes it such a great read. In In the Argentine's Bed we have a sensationally hot and sexy story between two very passionate people, a completely different spin on the tried and true "secret baby" plotline, and plenty of scandal to complicate matters. We also have beautiful settings with vivid descriptions that cross North and South America more than once, and richly detailed characters who take on a life of their own. I have to admit, upon first meeting Amado, I was really worried I wouldn't like him. He is so domineering and formidable that I had concerns about him being likeable. I should have known better! Jennifer Lewis's characters always come out loveable in the end, even though we may often want to smack them for being so oblivious and opinionated. Susannah is a strong woman in her own right, passionate about what she believes in and what she considers her responsibility. She has her vulnerable moments though, as does Amado, which makes us hope all the more they will get the happiness they deserve. The chemistry between these two is immediate and it doesn't take long for it to become evident they are meant to be together, perfect complements. Even so, they have a lot of burdens to overcome before figuring that out for themselves. I love the whole premise behind the The Hardcastle Progeny miniseries by Jennifer Lewis. What's not to love about a ruthless business man trying so very hard to redeem himself when he discovers he is dying and realizes the errors of his ways? While he may not go

A sensual and romantic journey

In the Argentine's Bed is the second book in The Hardcastle Progeny and for Amado Alvarez it's a second chance at finding love but not an easy one for him. For both Amado and Susannah it's also a lesson in learning to trust, about family and the true meaning of coming home. Tarrant Hardcastle is NOT a nice man. He's a millionaire several times over and he owns a Manhattan retail empire Hardcastle Enterprises. He is also just holding onto life by a mere thread and it's his goal to track down the illegitimate sons he once denounced. Susannah Clarke has been given the assignment of getting a DNA sample from the handsome and sexy Argentine vintner Amado Alvarez. What neither of them counts on is their immediate attraction and how they immediately enter into a relationship. Amado is definitely one attractive man with an incredible heart. He loves his family, his grapes and his winery and he has no knowledge that Tarrant Hardcastle is his father until he meets Susannah. When he learns about Tarrant, his relationship with his family and the secrets they've been keeping almost rip the family apart. Susannah is not only beautiful she's very successful as a wine buyer and well thought of at Hardcastle. She loves her work and all of the travel it involves. As a child, she moved from country to country as her parents were missionaries and she doesn't know the meaning of "home" but she gets a taste of it with Amado and the Alvarez's. What tugged at my heart was that Susannah really never new the true meaning of home until she met Amado. She was always on the outside looking in, always moving and never belonging until she met him. In the Argentine's Bed is a stand alone book and one you won't want to miss. Tarrant Hardcastle, his wife, daughter and his long lost sons are an exceedingly pleasing series and I honestly can't wait to read the last book, The Heir's Scandalous Affair. Fresh Fiction Interview: "In the first two books I had to keep a delicate balance between showing Tarrant's growth as a human being, and keeping his cold, calculating edge, because I knew he was going to die by the third book. He's already terminally ill in the first book, so it's no surprise, but I didn't want readers to be so attached to him that they'd be upset when he finally met his maker. I hope I managed to make Tarrant endearing enough to be sympathetic, but not so adorable that you'll be furious with me for killing him off!" J Lewis
