in seach of the good life: the ethics of globalization

The book is very good for anyone who whant to explore the ethics of globalization. peters presents very well different theoriies of the globalzation.

A Must Read!

A reasonably in-depth, multidisciplinary treatment of globalization. Peters examines four dominating views of globalization--Neoliberal, Development, Earthist, and Neocolonial--theologically based on a (not "the!") Christian viewpoint. She clearly states her biases as well as her criteria for analysis--democratized understanding of power, care for the planet, and the social wellbeing of people--and then fairly critiques each of the four positions according to each criterion. She does not "pick one" view, but rather suggests improvements to the two that seem to most closely fit her criteria. Even if you do not agree with her position, this is an excellent example of how theology is "done" and an eye-opening look at some largely unchallenged assumptions of Western society. I plan to read it again soon.
