Nice coming of age novel

It's been a long time since I read this lovely coming of age novel; Kate is a teenage actress, and when her actor father is written out of his soap opera, suddenly she is the family breadwinner. But, she's still a teenager, and she's torn a bit between the challenges of being famous and thus isolated from everyone else her age. Like all of Morgenroth's books, it does a good job of being authentic and portraying the struggles of growing up, without making it look too hard or too easy.

I'd just like to mention that I usually go for more action and adventure than this. I could not find a good book so I decided to pick a book out at random and landed this one. It is about a girl named Kate and she doesn't like being "in the spotlight". Her dad is written off of a soap he has been on for many years and she decides to try and get a part. She gets it and one of the guys starts to fall for her. Let's just say everything ends up working out and her dad gets a different part.
