Book Overview

America's favorite crypto-zoological hominid is hilariously recast as the modern-day everyman, struggling with eating disorders, casual cannibalism, pop culture, and philosophical quandaries ("Me once believe in good. Now, no. World go shit, just like Bigfoot screenwriting career").

Me think this book make life worth living

You really, really want know bigfoot better? He misunderstood, that true. But Graham save Bigfoot from peril of obscurity. Make Bigfoot seem like best friend--same as Sylvia Plath poetry make me want know her. You read this book and be better, OK? Make you forget Iraqi civil war and avian flu.

The humor is terrific

I bumped into this little gem while Christmas shopping. I was laughing so hard just flipping through it in the store, I was starting to cry. So I bought two copies for gifts, and now I'm going back for more. A true masterpiece! The blend of the graphics with the story is pure genius.

Get a diaper- you'll wet yourself laughing!

I stumbled across this book in an excellent graphic novel store in Montreal. I picked it up, flipped through it, and began to read... and caused a commotion. I swear to god, I can't remember laughing like that in ages- I mean, mascara running, eyes crying, shaking and shrieking laughing.Bigfoot is a sensitive, misunderstood soul. He writes poetry about his personal pain ("I hit you with log"), makes friends in Las Vegas at a roulette wheel, and talks about the love/hate relationship with his fans ("I not Chewbacca" "No splash me with holy water- it no work"), along with other subjects important in his life. The illustrations capture the spirit of the book- they are messy, inky and full of energy. If you have a dry sense of humour, appreciate the absurd, and dig character-based comedy you have found the perfect book. I ordered it for a gift for someone and I've flipped through it again before wrapping it, and it's still left me laughing as hard as when I first read it- that in itself says something.

I almost peed my pants

This is one of the funniest books I've ever read. The illustrations are amazing! They appear to be simple watercolors but are really essential to the story line (if you want to call it that). Bigfoot talks quite openly about his life, his emotions and ambitions. Bigfoot has feelings too. He covers issues ranging from having a tough childhood, not being able to have a date for the prom, weight and body hair issues, and his relationship with Koko the gorilla. You come to realize that Bigfoot is a brilliant misunderstood genius who wishes that his stalkers would leave him alone, but at the same time craves fame and fortune.

In Me Own Words

Book best I read in long time. So funny I mark territory outside my house to attract this bigfoot. Join in shocking adventures of curiosity, cannibalism, and tender homeboy stories. This book good. Loc Ness book bad. Opening page sells the book, but I won't tell about it. Buy it or I eat you wallet and then you face.If you can handle how the this review was written you'll piss your pants laughing. The book is ingenious and is well worth the time it takes to order. Happy reading.
