badly dated, but interesting

This book, which is more journalistic than socio-political, came out in about 1980. It is a detailed examination of Western Europe in a cold war context that at the time was a splendid introduction to the region. Aron's vision and ideals are both brilliant and realistic, if somewhat conservative.
