It's a must read for anyone who has struggled with who they are and who they want to be. You don't need to be a football fan or to have been touched in some way by addiction, this book will speak to you in many ways. It's a thoughtful and articulate account of one man's struggle not only with addiction, but with life and everything that comes with it. You'll be inspired to be your best and do your best with what you've been given. Everyone who reads this book will take something from it that they will keep forever.

Honest and Inspiring

In Control: The Rebirth of an NFL Legend is a great book. Thomas Henderson has written an honest and inspiring account of his life, focusing on his recovery from drug and alcohol addiction and his tireless efforts to help others in their recovery. Interesting additions to this heartwarming book are insightful passages written by his daughter, brother, friends, and former Dallas Cowboy teammates such as Roger Staubach, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Randy White, Drew Pearson, and Charlie Waters. Clean and sober, Thomas has lived an exemplary and remarkable life. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loved Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson as a Dallas Cowboy football player and to those who are dealing in some way with alcohol or drug addiction. I have bought several copies for family and friends.

Thomas Henderson Scores Again

This book is so much more than an autobiography. It has a fund of information for anyone on alcoholism, drug addiction and treatment for both. It is also a wonderful commentary about helping others. Thomas is a generous man and he has helped so many people, especially the kids of East Austin where he grew up. People don't realize what a role model he is for everyone. He won 28 million dollars in the Texas lottery and has given a lot of it away. He has proven himself a star player in the superbowl of life.

Spellbinding!!!!!!!!

This book was one that I couldn't put down until I finished it. It made me laugh as well as cry. Thomas tells his story with such candor and honesty. I am a member of the recovery community, a very close friend of Thomas' and work in the field of addiction as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. It was like reading a 4th step, one that reveals some of the feelings that occur when one is in the agonizing throes of active addiction. This book should be read by all family members of addicts and alcoholics. It is absolutely BRILLIANT!!!! It should be on the book shelf of every drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, therapeutic community, and libraries in both schools and prisons, all over the world.I also read Out of Control and I think Thomas has out done himself on this honest story of his life.

I was touched by the lovingly written pieces from his family and friends. His story unfolds the horrors of addiction and the joys of his extraordinary life told with heart, humor, and intensity. You will truly enjoy reading his autobiography.
