A meaningful reading experience

Throughout the 215 pages of this book, Sid (Company E, 342nd) tells the story of his most memorable experiences in the army and combat, then adds an extra demension by sharing with the reader how they added to his spiritual life.The author's feelings in combat, his contact with the Germans as a translator, his bond with his fellow soldiers and his spiritual insights all serve to make this a gripping and meaningful reading experience. Sid also shares accounts of his return and reunion in 1983 with his host family in Heddesheim as well as his return to Wolzhausen in 1990 and his meeting with the present Burgermeister.
