Made me a four-star chef, I swear

So far, I've cooked several recipes in this wonderful cookbook. Each and every one came out superb. Hope is just wonderful at translating this collection of recipes from top chefs into layman instructions. My favorite so far has been the Curried Orange Pork with Soy-Glazed Sweet Potatoes. I made it using D'Artagnan Heritage Pork and Duck & Veal Demi-Glace - 2 packs and the flavor was sublime! Thanks Hope for helping me impress for less.

A Wonderful Cookbook!

It is so difficult to start cooking: what do all the terms mean? where do I get all the ingredients? "Impress for Less" has simplified the entire process. The book contains useful tips, advice on where to purchase ingredients, and even wine pairings (in a variety of price ranges)! It is the perfect book for any level of culinary skill with simply fantastic recipes from America's top chefs and restaurants. I love this book--it is a must for every kitchen!

FINALLY I CAN IMPRESS FOR LESS!

FINALLY is right! I heard Hope on Martha Stewart Radio last week and I HAD to buy her book. She was fantastic - genuine, warm and smart. And I loved how she was a home cook just like me...but found most chef cookbooks diffcult. Amen, HOPE! I just received Impress for Less the other day. And I have already made two recipes from it. The Garden Gazpacho is very easy and delicious! My husband raved. And with Hope's help, I picked up everything in the grocery store just down the street. I made the Eggplant and Sweet Onion casserole for guests last night, too. And it was yummy. I had it ready for our guests in very little time. It was so good, our neighbors want me to bring over next Sunday for their pool party. Kudos to Hope Fox and her book, Impress for Less! I'm buying copies for my mom, sisters and all my girlfriends.

Impress For Less

Impress for less is spectacular! This book is everything I have always wanted and could never find! Hope shows us how to make incredible dishes from the finest restaurants without all of the difficulty and cost. Being a novice and a stay at home mom, this makes cooking a breeze for me. I ususally leave the cooking up to my husband since he enjoys it so, but now I want to make these dishes too! My husband, who is such a gourmet, loves so many features about the cookbook: it is organized by city. It gives fabulous wine selections for each meal. It offers helpful hints and a 'where to buy' guide to find the finest ingredients IF you want to. I recommend it for all At Home Chefs!!

The BEST cookbook for the NOT-SO-GOOD cook!

Impress for Less! is the only cookbook that will remain on my kitchen counter, (the rest can stay in a drawer). Hope Fox makes a non-cook like me believe I can make difficult recipies. Other books are larger with smaller print and recipes that take up 2 or 3 pages (these are the ones I skip even if the title sounds yummy), but Hope's "easier" recipies really do fit on one page with print you can actually read. I love how she gives you websites to purchase certain items from (this is how I do most of my shopping) and she has the links on her website: www.impressforless.com The recipies are organized by city and restaurant. When I first got the book, it was fun to page through it and see which restaurants I've eaten in, such as Commander's Palace in New Orleans. When I lived there, the only Louisiana recipe I ever attempted was bread pudding. I don't understand French and I'm a Philly native, so most recipies that were in the top cookbooks of New Orleans were intimidating. Hope's recipes make me want to get started right away! Even entrees like duck and lamb, which I love but have never made because I'm afraid, seem doable and simple. Thank you, Hope Fox, for making my kitchen less scary. I can't wait to get started!
