Great Breadth but not enough depth

While this volume presents a good spectrum of the Baan IV application, it definitely does not get into any great detail. Most chapters could easily be expanded into a volume on their own. In general, very good reference book, way to go Yves!!

Useful reference tool

A concise, detailed attempt to deliver everything under one roof. Whilst it is by no means complete, it is a good starting point for Baan users and implementers.

Good startup information

I wish I had this book a year ago when we began the Baan Project. This is a good book to describe the target methodology and get a handle on the whole project. I wouldn't recommend it as much once you are heavily into the implementation cycle. I am going to use this book for our site rollout to give the sites a quick startup guide to using Baan and focusing on the target methodology.

Provides a broad overview of Baan

Upon initial scanning of the areas in Baan that I am familiar with (i.e. the Tools package) I found it very brief. The book tries to cover all of the modules within Baan. The breadth is noted, but so is the lack of depth. I will find this book useful when first introducing myself to an overview of what a module can do. If you want an in-depth knowledge of what a session does then look at the online help within Baan!

Excellent introduction to the various BAAN IV Sessions

The purpose of buying this book was to increase my knowledge of the various BAAN IV Sessions and the corresponding functionality therein.This book proved ideal for this purpose. I now have an excellent reference guide for the majority of the Baan IV Sessions.The Baan functionality is explained in a clear and straight forward style.Furthermore, there are various "Tips" scattered throughout the book. Also, there are checklists outlined for various stages of a BAAN IV implementation.Although, the material concerning Baan Tools is more limited it serves as a gentle introduction to customisation of BAAN IV Sessions.All in all, an excellent book.
