This Sweet, Edgy story, w/o even trying to, will make you grin like crazy

One stormy night, a pirate-costume wearing Tyler stalks after a nervous-looking-Harem woman, into the darkness of a poolhouse...This woman is used to concealing her body to keep men at bay, and this man's legs locked up at the first sight of her lush body...They share the most (beyond) sexual-fulfilling night of their lives, but later Tyler awakes alone and unknowing to who the mystery harem lady was, and Carlie aims to keep that way. However, what will happen when the grade school teacher finds herself needing the partnership of Tyler for a sports program she's trying to start up for troubled kids? Will she continue to save herself from the mortification of Tyler finding out the truth? Can she truly remain to be friends with this compassionate, goofy guy? Or will she be forced to or have to cave in to tell him herself? These characters are graciously multi-dimensional and have their shortcomings. Carlie married for the wrong reasons at a young age because she had no home to go to after college, and therefore had to suffer the crude dealings of a passive husband. Now she will never allow herself to be vulnerable to a man again...Tyler, who can easily claim that all the women he's ever met in life only wanted one thing from him; to use him to their advantage. Whether that's a tumbling in the bed or his mother who wanted him and his brother to scurry off while she had company in bed. Therefore he can't trust them... You put these two souls together and it really is a sight to behold and enjoy. Even with wearing a mask, wig, and contacts ON or OFF, Carlie McDaniels still manages to easily "chase boredom right out the door" for savvy lawyer Tyler Ramsey. In any case of reading a good, worthwhile book, I need to feel that the author completely invested a lot of thought into the story and justly brought the characters to life. Obviously, the characters have a story to tell and did the author freely let them? In this case, Foster wonderfully did. Tyler and Carlie tell us a tender, humorous, self-discovery/improving tale. I hope you give it a chance and enjoy watching Tyler's stubborn sexiness when he finds himself enjoying the fun company and friendship of Carlie, even if she is enticingly reserved= Creates all the more endearing of a tale. You just can't pass up their verbal skirmishes, especially with seeing how Tyler so acutely and instinctively responds to Carlie's "prickly, independent, and outspoken" disposition with humor, devotion, and warmth. Their situation coupled with the fact that Foster does it justice, made their coupling and dialogue all the more intensely new, and vibrantly fresh for me. I felt such lively wonderful energy while reading this story, especially reading of Tyler's culminating feelings of Carlie; tender, yet at the same time with a sexy demanding edge to it that something WILL happen between them (according to Tyler ) and it will be "very good." The pacing of the book was wonderfully crafted and pleasurable, stemming
Steamy romance mixed with awesome characters!

I LOVED this book! The interaction of the characters, especially as their friendship unknowingly turns into love, is captivating. I love how Lori Foster shows Carlie as a "plain-Jane" gal, who wears frumpy, baggy clothes and has a "couldn't be bothered" attitude, yet deep down because of past hurts, Carlie is truly a beautiful woman, inside and out. Tyler is relentless in getting to know her, and in a strange way is actually attracted to her "plain-ness". Tyler cracked me up with his nosey questions, catching Carlie pleasantly off-guard. Impetuous is a fun read...perfect for a cold winter weekend. Can't wait to read another one of Lori's books!

In Impetuous, Lori Foster brings to life two characters who have their own reasons for avoiding love. For Carlie, it is a past hurt that has her hiding herself behind frumpy clothing and big glasses. After a disastorous marriage, Carlie is determined never to expose herself the the hurt she knows comes with relationships. All that changes one impulsive night when she meets Tyler Ramsay incognito. Tyler never found a woman that could hold his attention for a few months. Most called him a womanizer, but those closest to Tyler knew the truth. Not he not only has a mystery lady he can't forget, he has prickly Carlie McDaniels, a woman that he actually enjoys being with. Lori Foster is at her best in this erotic romance that will hook the reader. There is also a short story that is very short, but sweet too.
Hot, Hot, Hot

After a devastating divorce from a real jerk, gorgeous third grade teacher Carlie McDaniels hid herself away behind ugly glasses and uglier clothes. When her best friend Bren convinces her to come to her Halloween party, Carlie lets Bren pick out her costume. Bren picks out a sexy harem girl outfit for Carlie. Very self-conscenious in the costume, Carlie no more than makes an appearance at the party then goes to the pool house to hide. During her brief time at the party, Carlie catches the eye of Bren's brother-in-law, the devastatingly handsome Tyler Ramsay. Although he's seen her many times, Tyler does not recognize Carlie with her dark wig, colored contact lenses and veil. Tyler follows the mysterious harem girl to the pool house where they make hot (and I mean really hot) love. When Tyler dozes off, Carlie sneaks off determined that Tyler would never know it was her. When Carlie stops by Bren's to square up details of Bren's husband, Jason, helping with an after school recreation program, she learns that Jason had something come up and his brother Tyler is going help Carlie instead. Carlie is determined to keep Tyler at arms length so he won't recognize her as the mysterious harem girl. Although he's never given Carlie more than a passing glance in the past, working closely with her on the after school program, he quickly learns that she is unlike any other woman he's ever met. Instead of throwing herself at him, she seems to want to keep him at a distance. He also discovers that she is smart and funny. Soon, he's less determined to find his harem girl and more determined to get Carlie to want to spend more time with him. I really liked this book. Carlie was a very sympathic heroine. Her ex-husband did a major mind job on her and totally destroyed her self-confidence to the point that she had to hide who she really was behind her old maid clothes or the harem girl costume. Although rich, handsome and able to attack any woman he wants (and plenty he doesn't), Tyler is bored and dissatisfied until he gets to know Carlie better. These characters are so well written that you can believe them and understand why they are the way they are.
