Suspenseful

Charlie and Lizzie are partners with the Elite Guardians. While Charlie is undercover he gets beaten and left for dead with a head injury that causes him to not remember the last four years, when the attempts on his life continue Lizzie is assigned to protect him. Both of them are dealing with issues in their pasts that they must face head on in order to heal and discover what it was Charlie overheard that put the hit on his life. This story was action from the beginning and didn't stop to the end. There was a red herring thrown in so you didn't know who the bad guy was. A great addition to the Elite Guardian series and you get the rest of the characters from the previous books.

Loved it! Clean romance, and great action!!

5 stars for this fabulous, intensely paced book! It isn't often I find a book that has no content issues at all, but this is one of those few gems! Sami Abrams and Lynette Eason have woven a tale of friendship, protection, family and forgiveness that is exceptionally great! These books don't have to read in order, but if you do, you won't get juicy spoilers. This particular book is Lizzie Tremaine's story. Lizzie is a fiercely protective single mom, and she's an epic Elite Guardians bodyguard. Charlie Lee is the sole male bodyguard in the Guardians agency. Funny, likeable and daring, he specializes in undercover work on the local drug scene. I received a e-book copy of Impending Strike from the authors and publisher for my honest opinion, as part of The Elite Guardians Launch Team. Thank y'all for this wonderful e-book! Satisfying Suspense, Romance and Action

Impending Strike is well executed. I enjoyed the characters, Charlie and Lizzie. They worked well together, and their romance had all the tenderness you’d want to see in a story. And the mystery was fantastic. I had no idea who the bad guy was until the big reveal, and that rarely happens. So, kudos for keeping a great secret. There’s a lot of action and a satisfying conclusion. What more could you want? Abrams did a bang-up job and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. I received an ARC for review, but I've pre-ordered the e-book.

fast-paced, enjoyable romantic suspense

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series that is an extension of Lynette Eason's original Elite Guardians series and particularly loved this book that delves into Lizzie and Charlie's story. Lizzie's haunting past and her regrets make her who she is, and it paralyzes her from pursuing romance. Charlie has his own issues from the past to deal with, which he keeps tightly-lidded and buried under humor, nonchalance, and work. When things go sideways in Charlie's undercover role and he's placed in danger, Lizzie and Charlie finally get the opportunity to hash out their feelings while dodging assassins. Plenty of twists and turns in the plot will have you guessing at the identity of the mastermind behind the hits and the motive. It's a fast-paced, easy-to-read romantic suspense that is good company on a rainy day or on the beach. I received the book via the publisher and JustRead Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
