Immortal Rain continues to please

Another good addition to the Immortal Rain series, and worth buying, particularly since it's the second-to-last volume. Volume 8 of Immortal Rain continues where the plot left off in Volume 7, and is well-paced and features a lot of action. The character development is a bit slim, but since the series has lost some momentum, it's understandable that Ozaki wants to get the plot moving faster. The artwork was better than it was in Volume 7, and that's fortunate, because the action scenes hold up because of the artwork. The only real complaint I have with the book is that it introduces a new romance, one I felt was a bit contrived and shoved in there last minute. I found it especially disappointing because the romance/friendship of Machika and Rain didn't get a lot of development. The Yuka/Rain/Machika dynamic, however, got fair amount of attention and I'm interested to see where it will go next. Even if you lost interest with the seventh or sixth volume, the newest Immortal Rain is definitely worth your money and time, if only to see how it all ends.
