And now I am always able to quote, "I'm nobody, who are you? Are you nobody too? Then there's two of us- don't tell, they'd banish us you know!" This is truly a book I loved in sixth through eighth grades. Over the years since, I have wondered if I created the creepiness in the book- the psychic mysticism and such.... some was really odd for my age- Well, I got the book again in the library binding and it is still as creepy. A good example of reading level vs. maturity level. Still, a good read even today.
a classic from my junior high school days

I must have read this book six or seven times during my junior-high school years. I even have a picture of me with it! I so identified with the misfit, social outcast protagonist. I was so pleased to find a copy with the original library binding that I remembered. I don't know if Mary Anderson is still around, but I liked this book and "Step On A Crack" very much.
