Beautiful Images

Having been an educator, librarian and storyteller for nearly thirty years, I realize that African American Children need to see more books like this one. The images are colorful and vibrant. The text lends itself to a great read-aloud, and the message is clear: Be proud of your African heritage. Too many of our children suffer from low self-esteems that are often reinforced by negative words and images. Jwajiku Korantema, "You've done us proud!"
