If a mad scientist somehow crossed Hunter S. Thompson with Dorothy Parker, the resultant writer stomping across the American scene would be something like Cynthia Heimel. She's smart, she's observant,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is the best Heimel book I have read so far...witty, insightful, touching, sometimes sad, sometimes hilarious, always honest. Stories about homeless dogs, sick fathers, mean mothers, pregnant friends, politics - something for almost everybody. It's worth a read.
Good Insight in Short Chewable Chunks

I liked it. Granted the book was dated but suprisingly, the views were still very applicable. What I got most from the book is how little things have changed in almost 10 years. Heimel states some views about Clinton when he first got in office that could have been made about him now. She definitely is a gifted observer of the human odyssey and condition. She doesn't seem to be able to be satisfied by any condition of life, which as a keen observer of life, is a must (I guess). Sardonic, witty and colorful. Pulitzer prize winning prose...no. Fun and interesting point of view...yes. A good read with some interesting insights.
