Hope you got past the first book

The first book was very good don't get me wrong but it was aliens come to earth and blah blah blah. But when the terrains go to their planet there is a lot of originality and strong use of fairly hard science and perfect amount of militaristic science fiction . There is a good use of humor and satire.
