MANUVERING IN THE WORKPLACE!

In this "Survival of the Fittest!" book, author Anne Fisher shares career advice for manuvering through the morass of an ever-changing competitive environment. Choosing the right career, what to do when the "new kid on the block" makes as much money as everyone else, coping with abrasive fellow workers and overbearing bosses, being tenacious and getting that promotion are a few of the areas highlighted in this book. You get what you give! Hard work, focus, and dedication to completing the task at hand leads to success. Success begets success. On the other hand whining begets "you know what"- and the inevitable "pink slip" aka job loss. Read the book and avoid that pink slip!

Great way to rejuvenate a sagging career

What a fun read! Annie not only provides answers to questions you never thought to ask, she also taps into her vast network of workplace experts to offer professional advice and personal assurance. In addition to the numerous helpful quotations from noted authors and respected practioners cited in every chapter, the appendix contains references and resources that are priceless. It's no wonder her weekly column "Ask Annie" has such a large following. This book deserves to be a best seller. Well done Annie and thanks for sharing your collective wisdom.

Finally the inside track

I'm a big fan of the Ask Annie column in Fortune Magazine. But, wow, this book of hers is even better. It covers everything-- from how to get hired to how to fire once you're the boss. But what I really love is her down-to-earth tone: she talks right to you. She is way smart, but very nice about it, and funny, too. If you want the inside track on the job world, this is the book. She knows everything. A fantastic appendix of web sites, articles, you name it.

WOW what a tool

It's a wonderful insight into real issues that effect us at all levals of our working life. I can go forward and backwards in this book sometimes laughing and somtimes wishing I had this advise 10 years ago. Its got a spot on my desk , its worth making the room.
