A collection of essays on the political and cultural landscape of America. In 2008 I set out to record my views, opinions and political philosophy in a blog. I had no intentions of sharing my blog or promoting it. It was merely a place for me to write down the positions I had taken during the recently concluded 2008 Presidential election.During that long campaign where Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton battled during the Primaries, and then Obama and John McCain faced off in November, there were many times where I found myself restating my same positions over and over again, at bars, in cars, at the workplace, and regrettably over a holiday dinner or two.My blog, titled "If I Were President" was never made public, but occasionally I might give someone the link. My lunchtime discussions or weekend hangouts sometimes turned to politics and I would find myself quoting my own words. I would offer the link to the person on the other side of the table and invite them to read my essay on the subject. I don't know if my essays ever changed anyone's mind, but they usually sparked some more discussions. This printed version of my blog is copied from the original and each entry references the original posting date.
