Once I started this book, I could not put it down until I finished it. A gripping first person account of a daughter being taken away from her family by government decree in "the best interests of the child" The book details her separation and isolation from her family for three years by medical/psychological institutions, where she ends up dying. We feel the pain of the parents and the daughter when the psychologists would not even allow the parents and child to hug during the only monthly visits. With behavior midification in force, the daughter was only allowed to see her parents if she was "good" during the month. The book details how the psychologists reprogrammed the daughter to their way of thinking, totally destroying any parental bonds, which were considered "harmful" to the daughter. The reader is able to feel the pain of the parents, their other children, and the daughter.
