How His Great Love Touches the Least Among Us

I could not put this book down. It resembles how Jesus came into my own life (at approximately the same age, place and era He came to Al Thomas), when I was ready to end it all...as lowly as a human being can get, so I know this book is the real deal. Thomas was a confused unbeliever, living from one odd job to the next, but as Thomas relates, "God picks the weak ones, the people others do not pick. God often chooses the the unwise, the awkward, and the bumbling." This is how He receives the glory, because we know, when our lives change so radically, we have no one to thank but Him. Thomas' visitation from the Lord is exquisite. The love and beauty of the moment almost indescribable, but Thomas has the skill as a writer that allows us to share this extraordinary event. Thomas says "My life, after this experience, was turned upside down." The visitation was followed by many visions, some of a prophetic nature, a ministering angel, and more. Thomas prefaces these occurrences with the the 25 years that preceded them, starting with his early family life and how later he would go from his hometown of Baltimore to Los Angeles, via Iowa, Nevada, and Oregon and a few places in between. Thomas was a "loser," who with the mercy and love of Jesus became a winner who is able to share his story in a riveting way. Jesus came to "give life and life more abundantly," and Al Thomas has come a long way on God's path. Along with his wife Sherry, Thomas has a prophetic and healing ministry, with many miracles following, and they founded the Celebrating His Life Ministry in 1997. "I Saw the Lord..." Is a very special book for Christians who believe in His miraculous power, and anyone who feels an emptiness in this world and its ways, and seeks something more. As Thomas writes in the final page of this slim but powerful book, "Each one of us is as close to Jesus as we would like to be."
