My kids love it

I think it's an ok enough book but my kids absolutely LOVE it! They are 4 & 6-yrs. old. The story is cute and the pictures are not as cartoon-ish as some books designed for this age.

Awesome Simple book

I stumbled across this book while I was looking for books that dealt with the five senses for 5 senses week at the preschool I work at. The kids love I hear a noise. They are a little bit scared of the monster, but the fact that they now know it is a monster and they know the monster has a mommy kind of settles them down a little bit. Also, they love to see that the little boy's mommy is scared in most of the pictures, while the little boy is sleeping! I have literally read this book at least 12 times this week, and it's only Wednesday! Please buy this book if you don't have it...i'm about to buy it now because the kids love it so much and I have to return it to the library pretty soon. Pretty sure I can't take it out indefinately!

Great for beginners -- excellent protection against fear.

My two year old loves this book. She has memorized the entire book and can read it all by herself (from memory of course). This book will probably be the first book she actually learns how to read. The story is sweet and it gives children a different perspective on monsters. I think that it will help keep those future childhood phobias (monsters under the bed) in check. I'm very pleased with the book and I highly recommend it.
