Enchanting - 5 Stars for Sesame Street and "Ernie"

I can't read this book to my children without singing. The song is a lovely little lullaby we heard on Sesame Street, sung once by Aaron Neville. It is so beautiful, if you buy this book and don't know the tune, do yourself a favor and get a CD, too! You'll want to "sing" this book! It doesn't matter if you think you don't sing well -- the tune is so simple and your toddler loves your singing voice, anyway. Even if you don't know the tune, don't sing the song, and don't ever care to "sing" a book with your baby, this little board book catches a lovely, lilting rythym (even without music) that's perfect for bedtime. Read softly with lots of cuddling. The point of the story is that "home" is the best place to live, and other spots are great "just for visiting."

WE LOVE THIS BOOK!

I love this song so much, so we decided to get the book. The illustrations are so beautiful and I like to sing the words to my son. My son loves anything related to Sesame Street and he is enjoying this book very much. I highly recommend it.

One of my Personal Favorites

If your heart melted when this song appeared on "Sesame Street," then you'll love this book. If you are not already familiar with it, Ernie dreams about the amazing places he'd like to go. He learns that it's great to have an imagination, but there's no better place than being at home with loved ones. This is a short book that would make a great bedtime story for any preschool child.

One of those not-so-babyish Sesame Street songs

"I Don't Want to Live on The Moon" has been one of my mother's favorite songs. The song is mostly in Sesame Street episodes about space, but the main theme of this soothing song is really about having wishes rather than about going to the moon. It tells how when one has wishes, it is hard to decide whether or not he or she really wants them to come true because of the changes that might happen if they did. I sing the song when I think of my wishes and at nighttime when I see the moon. They really ought to make more books of those not-so-babyish Sesame Street songs such as, "We are all Earthlings". Buy this book for somebody who's always got wishes on their mind about which they have tough decisions.

Beautiful!

I read to my daughter every night before bed-- twice: the first time she can see the pictures, the second time she has to close her eyes and "see the story in her imagination." Last night, I couldn't get her to keep her eyes closed the second time-- she just wanted to look at the beautiful pictures! When the story was over, she initiated a game of "which is your favorite star" in the endpapers! Just a sweet story with beautiful illustrations. We'll be looking for more by Moss and Fehlau!
