Has Not Been Properly Researched

I am sad to say that the only thing backing up the entire book is the oral history of Mrs. Bryant's family. In order to say that it is the true story, there must be solid, unmovable facts. But as Ron Chernow has written in his biography of Washington, it is "very unlikely" that Washington even went to his brother's plantation and that Venus had come to Mount Vernon during the time frame. And as for his so-called "son" accompanying him to church and out hunting, there is no record. And Washington always kept a record of who he was with. Although, I must admit, Mrs. Bryant has a talent for writing.
