A Portrait of Jesus

I came to this book late, having found a copy buried on another's bookshelf. Taking my time with each of the brief chapters, I found myself savoring the author's refreshing, thoughtful without being academic, and very approachable writing style. I have read many books about Jesus, including those in the arena of theology, and continue to read the Bible regularly. All that notwithstanding I am glad that I read this stirring account of a very stirring person. What a shame that this book is now out of print. I would confidently give this small volume to anyone from any cultural or religious background as a reliable overview and introduction to Jesus. I came to set the earth on fire: A portrait of Jesus
