Ruined a beautiful book

I have seen books at good will for 25 cent in better quality. I was trying so hard to find ESL books for first graders I am working with so I decided to thrift some books deciding a few marks or rips would be fine since I was on such a tight budget. No. I am in tears opening my package. This quality is worse than the lowest tier on here. There are bite marks (that's gross), markers blurring the text (the whole point of the book), and a mysterious oily black substance on the back (again gross). I genuinely will never try this again. This was unsanitary and a waste of time and money. This is a beautiful book with such potential that I was delivered unusable. Shame.
