Teaching as a calling

Marquis has compiled a wonderful collection from interviews with teachers sharing why they teach. Robin ?????'s fine photographs of these teachers are dated in this 1970's ???publication. This is a great read for people who love to work with students or those who are weary from the demands of teaching and are in need of a boost. A copy of this book would be well placed in every school in the United States and perhaps beyond. Another good setting for the book is in vocation, as in calling, collections. Some may argue that the content reflects a time when teaching was not the challenge that it is today. The book still speaks to me, however, and I have been a teacher since 1969.
