I prefer this, most Sundays, to the Hymnal 1982 because unison singing is a pet peeve of mine. God didn't give us all the same pitch of voice, now did God? I personally am a tenor. I read music and prefer to sing the tenor line. Since the Hymnbook has the accompaniment version of all the hymns (except 'Jesu, Jesu', whose oversight was that?), I'm able to improvise a harmony on, for instance, 'The King of Love My Shepherd Is', while the rest of the congregation is singing the melody (Soprano) line.
