Hugh Hambleton, Spy: Thirty Years With the KGB

An excellent volume that outlines the author's association with the subject, Hugh Hambleton and then examines his espionage in depth. The methods used by the subject and the relentless attention from a variety of KGB operatives were all outlined adequately. For myself, the constant account of Hambleton's use of wireless for his contact from the KGB, in particular the decoding device, the Lumiere, or Hambleton's Light Box as it is sometimes called, made the book even more enjoyable. Unfortunately the book, written in 1983, does not mention that Hambleton was transferred to a Canadian gaol in 1986 and was released into the community under a mandatory care order in 1989. All in all, an excellent read.
