Not What I Expected But What I Needed

I bought this book because I'm going into a business degree and I was expecting it to be filled with business manipulation and tactics, like "How to win the sell". While there are many many many good points on things like how to influence people and "win the sell" the majority of the book is focused on how to be a more loving and attentive person. This book is great for EVERYONE. Every reader will take something away from this, whether it's how to be a more caring parent, loving spouse, or all-around great friend. I recommend this to anyone who is struggling with their interpersonal skills and just needs a new outlook on their situations.

Excellent book. Excellent

He's great on teaching people how to deal with people and it feels good in the way he explains it in the way that you do it

By far an amazing read.

Cozy up and feed your mind!

Not the edition I thought I ordered

I’m excited to read the book, but not excited about the shape or edition this came in

Not Intended As A Book To Manipulate Others

This book will change your life for the better if you use its teachings as Dale Carnegie intended, not as a way to manipulate others.

This book deserves its glowing reputation

This book covers, in the perfect amount of detail, how to be a friendly and commendable person. I admit to being scared away from this book for a great while from it's title, thinking it little more than a guide on manipulation, to the contrary, the book highly stresses seeing things from the others perspective, going out of one's way to help others, and to always consider things for a mutual benefit. Certainly worth a read I would say.

This Book Made Me Human

A key to my transformation from a narcissistic nihilist into someone who actually cares what people think. People are unbelievably interesting if you learn to listen to what they say. If you can do that, you'll find people telling you their life story within a few minutes of meeting them. Dale Carnegie will teach you how, and much more. Indispensable to the introvert who has trouble either relating, or just knowing what to say to people. A masterpiece in the art of rhetoric. Easy to read and understand. As long as you bathe regularly, this is best way to make people enjoy your company I want to live in a world where people ask me; "how are you" and they actually WANT to know. You too can enjoy being a human who cares about other humans.

Will it help you start a cult?

Didn’t Charles Manson read this?

What's In This Book Works

I read this as a 16 year old and studied it carefully. What's in this book works. Its the granddaddy of the self help movement in America and deserves every one of its 5 stars. Human nature really hasn't changed since it was written. I've been using the ideas in this book since I was a teenager.

pages are worn out in personal copy

I have worn out my forty year old copy, so I am here to buy another. This is a masterpiece for the ages.

The book was an old edition which I live but it was just ripped in the middle for the first 30 pages

Pages were a bit ripped in the top but I read it twice and none have fall plus I love the books so whatever but im definitely going to buy another one because im probably going to read it a bunch of times more

Very valuable information!

Extremely good read & I'm not even done yet!

It's not just hype.

Get this book. Seriously, you will be glad you did. I've dealt with clinical social anxiety most of my life. I was an isolated, homeschooled child without much opportunity to develop social skills. I'm not even halfway through this book and it has opened my eyes. It is, without exaggeration, already life-changing. When I first heard about the book, I was skeptical that it was just marketing and hype, but then I saw that the reviews were consistently positive... so I decided it couldn't hurt to at least read it. I'm glad I did. This book is immeasurably helpful to someone like me who has poorly developed social skills, but on thinking about it I realized that most of the suggestions in this book are things that even highly social people could benefit from. Honestly, if everyone practiced what this book suggests, we'd live in a much more harmonious society. Get the book, read it, and share it.

Immediate Motivation

This book offers a lot of motivation, because besides inviting you to practice what you have read already, the changes of people's attitude they can also be seen that surrounds you as well as in yourself immediately.
