Superb story of one man's common sense approach to success

I read this book a few years ago and loved it so much, eight of my co-workers bought copies, including the boss! As a matter of fact, the boss (a Captain on a merchant marine freighter) bought copies for each of his five kids. Very easy to read, common sense approach to life as well as to business. Mr. Berthelsen stresses keeping very careful watch over one's debt, preferably not to experience any at all, but when one needs to carry some debt, it must be for a very short period of time. His advice and experience is extremely sound, especially in this day and age. Paying cash for cars, the supreme importance of saving money, his sage advice for teaching kids about the use of money, frugal living, etc... it's here in an easy to read format. The author states many simple and basic ideas we need to be reminded of frequently, concerning our blatant disregard for not keeping debt under control, the proper use of the almighty credit card, for saving money and paying cash. My children and their children will read this book. I highly recommend it. Light up a good cigar, and enjoy this one.
