This book is not about who the Antichrist might be in popular opinion. This is a study of what the Scripture says about his personality and what he does, and also about what is happening in the world at the time he arrives. I know eschatology is a minefield of theories, but this book builds as firmly on Scripture as any I know. Arthur E. Bloomfield was a believer in the pre-tribulation rapture and so that may turn some people off of this, but even if someone disagrees with that, it is still a valuable book for insight on the subject of Antichrist. He does spend some time talking about Communism and Russia. I found that a bit out of date, but the book was written in 1975. It is understandable why he would suggest that it could happen that way. I simply overlooked that part of it and kept what I felt was worthwhile.
