A book for experienced painters to help them paint representational watercolors with self assurance

This is definitely not a book for the beginner or even intermediate watercolor artist. It is for the advanced artist. In the introduction the author writes “ this book will concentrate on painting representational transparent watercolors with self assurance. It will stress the need for approximate planning and conceptualizing which should precede the actual design of the watercolor and application of paint. It will introduce into the artists thinking the way the eye perceives a most important yet little understood phenomenon that is the basis for personal interpretation of any given subject matter” This book is highly specialized, and not the average painter looking to improve their craft. The contents include Seeing paint as your eye perceives Visualizing: get a head start Forgiveness: watercolors best kept secret Photo sketching: use photography creatively Ten Commandments for the watercolorist The book is full of both watercolors and photographs.
