I picked up this book at a local library for a summer read. I was actually looking for yet another diet book and saw this one next to it. I didn't recognize the author's name but I picked it up because of the title. This is an amazing book!! It looked a bit technical at first and I skimmed the chapters. I have since gone back through and read each chapter carefully. This book makes me want to scream, "Why isn't this information out there for all dieters?" Every person who has struggled with weight issues needs to read this book!!
this book is pretty good

This book is a nuts and bolts discussion of the human body's physical response to food, stress, exercise, change, etc. It can be pretty heavy going compared to alot of the diet books on the market (no cute sidebars with some model's skincare secrets, no recipes for low fat fudge, no pix of gorgeous celebs, etc.) It can certainly help if you are willing to put in the time to track all of your responses for a month. I'm not sure that I am right now but maybe some time I'll be more motivated and then I'll be glad I have this book.
Does this ever explain it all!

Again, Anne Katherine has turned in solid research to make sense of the frustration most of us who struggle with food experience. Not only does she offer information that the medical community could use immediately to help those with appetite disorders, but she offer sufferers solutions that can make a difference in every home. I bought six copies to give to friends. This book may finally be the beginning of true change for the overweight.
