Ugh Another book on marriage? There are a ton of books on getting married, recovering from trauma, spicing up your marriage, and so on. Many of them are littered with suggestions like "Hand your husband a cold drink and his slippers when he walks in the door." Pshaw Like that's going to happen. I'm an independent, educated, working mom. Not in my house. But I have come to learn a thing or two about how to keep myself sane and my husband relatively happy for fifteen years-which is really saying something, since the odds are stacked enormously against us. My goal was to write a book that empowers women, instead of pointing out all that they do wrong, this isn't some "how to" book that will turn your marriage upside down in three easy steps. It's more like that little voice in your head that nudges you in the right direction when you're about to start a fight. I want to be able to talk about sex, why it should be pleasurable and why it's important for both you and your husband to partake in healthy intercourse. I want to start a real discussion with women about what really matters in life and, no, that does not include getting a divorce, moving to Europe, and "finding yourself". Because, really, who has the time or money for that anyway?
