A blessing to read...

This book has absolutely changed my life! I recommend it to any single woman who struggles with finding herself, loving herself, and forgiving herself for making mistakes. In the simplest way, Michelle illustrates not just how to avoid the 10 mistakes but also how to overcome those mistakes that we often make as single women. Purchase this book for yourself and for any single woman that you know and love.

Michelle's Best Work Yet!

I read this book in one day because I simply couldn't put it down. I have been a fan of Michelle's work for a while, and read many other books; however, this book is her best work yet. Her insight is fresh and amazing! I thank God for her impact on my life and other people have even seen the change in me. God Bless you Michelle!

Michelle does it again

Michelle continues to use the bible as her guide in writing her books. Everything she refers to is backed up by a scripture in the Bible. This is why I enjoy reading her books. She continues to inspire christian women to get their acts together and act the part God designed for you and only you.

A good book for all women

I've been married for fifty years and I still learned something from this book. Something about me. One section that really stepped on my toes was Mistake Number Seven: "Get over yourself." And how about this? "If your money belongs to you, you will never have any, but if your money is God's money He will protect it for you." I had never thought that being thin skinned and easily offended was ungodly, but Michelle helped me see the truth of that statement. This book is filled with pointers and advice that not only help prepare women how to find the right man, it contains some very good information on becoming the woman God wants us to be. I recommend this book for any woman, single or married. There's a lot of helpful information tucked in these pages. In fact, I passed on my copy to the youth leaders at my church to use in planning lessons. Michelle McKinney Hammond knows her subject and most women could benefit from reading How to Avoid the Ten Mistakes Single Women Make.

Good info for single women

In her latest book, How to Avoid the 10 Mistakes Single Women Make, Michelle McKinney Hammond pulls no punches in challenging her single sisters to be responsible for guarding their own hearts. Too many times, we alone are responsible for ignoring the warning signs and plunging ahead in relationships that are ill advised and certainly not the Lord's best for us. Many of the mistakes made come from our inaccurate view of God and of the value of our life in His eyes. Michelle wisely deals with these foundational issues first. Mistake number one, 'Placing marriage on a pedestal next to God,' communicates that we need to find our self-worth in God, not another person. Our thoughts need to be realigned to see things from God's perspective and "... your preconceived notions of the life you had envisioned for yourself must be put to rest before you can open your arms to embrace the life God has for you in the present, ... Life does not consist of those who make me feel that I count. It consists of how much value I add to the life of others ... Your worth through God's eyes has already been determined. In His mind you are priceless." When we understand our value in God's eyes, we are less likely to make mistakes such as, 'Missing the significance of the present moment,' 'Being shortsighted about life' and 'Subjecting your heart to foolish choices.' Each of the ten mistakes covered begins with a biblical story to illustrate, and concludes with a solution--the practical, biblical way to rectify it. Questions are included to allow opportunity to reflect and dig deeper. Everyone who reads this book will probably have a few nerves touched by Michelle's raw honesty--I know I certainly did. However, having our beliefs challenged when they are keeping us from God's best is, while not easy, a necessary and good thing. I look forward to having my thoughts challenged by more of Michelle's refreshing candor in the future. Armchair Interviews says: Challenging but important points for single women to consider.
