Rich Idiots!!

I bought this book last year and really enjoyed reading it. We have to look past our perceptions on how we think rich people get to where they are and how they think. I read a couple of reviews which were not too impressed with the book, luckily I read those reviews after having read the book. Thank God for that!! Had I read them before, I had probably not purchased the book at all. This book has made me look at my expenses and my way of living from a very different perspective. Best part is that it is an easy read and easy to understand for all. Would strongly urge people under the age of 18 to read this book as it will give them a strong base. Probably pointing out a few things to their parents as well. The book simply asks you to make money, but take care of the most important asset (yourself) and your family while doing it. Is it hard to earn alot of money? Probably, is it hard to get rich, not really. Here`s one of my little ideas which came to mind and I followed through with : Bought a house (loan from the bank) which had to storeys. One was over and one was under the ground. 1/3 of the bottom floor had a small 2 room apartment which I rented out shortly after purchasing the house. After a while I applied for a loan (which was very expensive with a high interest rate) to make another apartment on the remainder of the same floor where the first little apartment was. And so I did. Before signing the papers and saying yes to this expensive loan, I thought to myself, "this loan is very expensive, but the amount I pay per month for the loan minus what I would probably get in rent from people renting will still ensure that I will not be going into minus, but rather plus. I did get some people who rented straight away, paid for the first month, they stayed for a total of 6 weeks and disappeared. I contacted a person who knew them and asked if they planned on returning etc etc. They were not coming back. No problem!! The apartment was empty for a total of 6 weeks after that. I deleted the add, made a new one which was different, lowered the price a bit and withing 24 hours I had 8 emails and several people call who were interested. It got rented out shortly after. Next step : getting the expensive loan refinanced into the same house. Once it is refinanced into the house. Once that happens, I will be paying 1/4 of what I was paying before on the amount that I had loaned. Now there are 3 units. One is quite big which I reside in with my family, 2 are rented out. This is just one of the things which I have done. I have seen people who are extremely intelligent who can do so many things in life, but don`t. Alot of other people who have purchased this book and will purchase it will probably think differently and make it big some day. The following is not in the book, but just something I believe in : "The richest are those who are content with what they have". If you have an "illness" like I did (partially have I g

How Come That Idiot's Rich and I'm Not?

This is exactly what I have been looking for. Talk about hitting the financial nail on the head! This is the type of investing I have been looking for, I just needed someone to break it down into plain English for me. Robert Shemin does this easily and effortlessly for you.

An easy, fast read to get on track!

How Come That Idiot's Rich and I'm Not? This book is for anyone that has been searching for the answers and just needs a little direction and some accountability. It is also perfect for the new investor because it explains the terms and concepts in easy to understand, plain English. It is a very fast read. I didn't want to put it down. I attended a real estate seminar at sea with Robert and he is exactly how he portrays himself in the book. Sometimes you read a book and wonder if the writer has had real life experience with the subject. I can tell you that he is the real deal and very approachable.

easy to read, easy to follow.

What I love about this book is how the author makes it so easy to read and better yet easy to follow his instructions on wealth building. Business as in life is not always about complicated formulas but rather taking simple actions over time that garner results. It is a true testimony that one can overcome their shortcomings and succeed in todays world. Bravo Robert!

Breath of Fresh Air- THE REAL DEAL

The entire recurring message of "upside down thinking" (which is really the right side up) is absolutely true and a breath of fresh air. I have absolutely been raised with the same thought process ingrained into me and Robert does a nice job of putting the concept into very simple logic that is impossible to deny. I think that one of the most important elements to a book like this is for the reader to really feel like the author has "been there and done that and has the T-Shirt" in order to accept the principle message and believe it can truly be implemented by the everyday person, and Robert is the REAL DEAL. I also appreciate the "Get before you can Give" philosophy and message. This is something that I have felt for sometime, and couldn't necessarily explain or justify totally, but again Robert did a very nice job of putting it simply but sincerely. The actual business / real estate principles of the book are easy to follow and I believe people will be able to understand how they can implement these practices into their own lives but for me personally there is a bigger picture to the book. I will tell you, Chapter 2 of the book was the most important to me. I have had so many "Mystery Money Moments" in my career already which I have and continue to be greatful for, and I completely get what Robert is saying here. The commit scripts also were appreciated. Excellent book, great messenger! Keep up the good work Robert! NE
