A small step towards financial literacy

Given the abject financial ignorance of typical products of secondary education, books like this would have a much wider circulation if eradicating this ignorance were a serious priority. The insights offered are relatively elementary, but the prevalence of imprudent consumer behavior in the use of credit clearly demonstrates the need for foundational books like this one. Too bad the purveyors of "crazy loans" would prefer these future credit customers to remain ripe prospects for their financially toxic products. As a result, most young adults are likely to encounter such information only after they have gotten themselves head over heels into debt using a varierty of "easy loan" offers that they would have avoided like the plague if they had digested the message of this text as part of their high school experience. This effort to present the basics of personal financial management to secondary level students is commendable. The serious effort to diffuse this information early in the educational experience of our youth remains to be made.
