Wonderful Welsh saga

This is one in a series of truly grand books about 18th century life in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The heroine is an engaging young woman with a good mind and adventurous spirit, and the series takes her through much of her life and life choices, from a young girl to mistress of a sizable estate, to motherhood and widowhood and remarriage. Adding to the enjoyment is that she has second sight and sometimes sees visions in the sky, portents of disasters. The whole series evokes perfectly the lovely mountain valleys and crags of Pembrokeshire and includes the political events like an ill-fated French invasion. Highly recommend the whole series. You'll learn a lot and enjoy every page.
