A Different Vantage Point on home building

As a building designer and restorer for over thirty years, I am very accustomed to writers of books and articles instructing the reader on the methods of construction and virtues of different kinds of home designs and decorative methods. This is a very different kind of book. Ms. Gurau instead of giving us to a 'How-to' manual, provides us with a very perceptive and sensitive voyage through the building of a house, both as a consumer and as an observer. This book is recommended reading for both those interested in building, and for architects and designers and builders who get too close to the process and not seeing how it effects people and the planet. A very fine contribution.

It¿s an adventure story, not a how-to-book

If you want to know how to build a structure in harmony, joy, exhilaration, and peace, then you must read this book. It's an adventure story, not a how-to-book.House as Teacher, Building the Future, Now is a journey through one of the most important decisions a person can make in life, building a home. When Ursela Gurau made this choice, was it destiny that she met Tohmas Twintreess? This book is gut level honest as Ursela and Tohmas start this journey together with no contract in writing, but rather a handshake. The story evolves around designing three domes structures for Ursula's house. The hard part is doing this in complete harmony with nature, listening to the land, the trees, the creatures, but also Ursela's and Tohmas' hearts. They have encounters. They journal their progress, both of their psyches and of the impressive house that eventually reflects Ursela's dream and Tohmas' unfolding vision. The end result is a phenomenal structure - a friendship of souls brought together to fulfill a house that dreamed them. Dr. Caron GoodeAuthor, Nurture Your Child's Gift, Inspired Parenting
