Anyone who has witnessed a lone balloon drift across the horizon on a misty, moisty, morning has an immediate desire to learn more about these majestic beauties. Hot Air Balloons is a great start on what, for some, will become a lifelong adventure.Hot Air Balloons is not surprisingly gorgeous, filled with dozens of professional photos taken of balloons all over the world. Just thumbing the pages of this 12"x12" book is like a visual meditation. I personally would recommend this title for all doctor, lawyer and, especially, IRS offices to soothe their waiting clients and patients.Readers new to ballooning will find much useful material about the history and sport of ballooning as well as the architecture of the balloons themselves. Experienced balloonists or enthusiasts will find little new information here though, the only factor keeping me from giving this book 5 stars. However, the writers, both journalists with over 30 years of ballooning experience do provide accurate information in a very readable manner.Hot Air Ballooning would be rewarding for anyone interested in the basics of ballooning. This book would be a perfect gift for anyone other than an experienced balloonist, due to the universal appeal of these multicolored vagabonds.
