Positive!

Thank you very much! The book was in good conditions, the 2 CDs were there and I was very happy with the all experience. I hope to get an A in class. Thank you again! Sincerely, GianPaolo Stevanato

Book was great, but had no code for using on-line. Since it is a textbook, this was disappointing... Could not find code anywhere else either. Had to go to QUIA to purchase code separately.

Good text to accompany instructor led course.

I just finished my first semester of French and we used this book for the course. The book was pretty well organized with a grammar and vocabulary summary at the end of each chapter. I found the grammar explanations pretty easy to understand and the exercises were helpful. The instructor for the course followed the book for the most part with some minor changes to ordering and some supplemental handouts. After learning the grammar and vocabulary in class it was pretty easy to use the book to locate specific areas for review. Overall I found this book very good as a course textbook. But I'm not sure how good it is for self study.

Great!

These tapes are an excellent addtion to(and really a necessity for anyone who uses)the corresponding textbook, HORIZONS. They are fun and interesting in subjest matter. The only drawback to them is that they do not list the vocabulary words from the textbook, that the student might hear each word spoken individually.

Superb!

This book is a superb textbook for anyone who wishes to study French on their own or for faculty seeking a well written, interesting and asthetically stimulating text for their introductory courses. While I am on the faculty at my college, I signed up for the French I class for fun. The course was cancelled but I was able to teach myself the material, so complete is this book when used with tapes and workbook. It surpasses all of the "teach yourself" books. Excellent!
