I used this book in preparation for the AP exam which I plan to take at some point next year. As far as the notes are concerned, they tend to give you as little grammatical information as possible, so this volume is probably better suited to the more advanced student. For my first couple of years of Latin, Horace seemed rather lofty, owing in large part to the fact that he isn't seen much in primary courses like Wheelock's. Now that I've had the opportunity to breath in more of his material, I feel much more familiar and comfortable with it. This book is a very pleasant way to sample the richness of Horace's poetic nectar.
