I own several homeopathic self-care books, and this is the only one I use anymore for basic ailments. I actually use it to help adults and children. It has clear, adequate descriptions of each remedy as well as potency and dosing recommendations, which would be especially helpful for those new to homeopathy. It is not as easy to browse as those that simply have the ailments in alphabetical order but the table of contents and the index are adequate for helping the user find the correct section. Additionally, the sections for first aid and childhood diseases, emotional issues, and treatment of newborns are generous inclusions. Many of my friends and family call me for help finding the right remedy, and this is usually the book I use: I almost always can find the correct remedy here, even for babies. The other resource I find helpful is the repertory that comes with the Helios homeopathic kits; they sell it separately as a small booklet, too, called Helios Homeopathics: A Basic Guide to Homeopathy. I have borrowed numerous self-care homeopathic guides from the library, and I own Miranda Castro's as well as Tricia Allen's and Phyllis Speight's, and this is the one to which I turn first. If you're interested in using homeopathy for self-care, whether you have children or not, I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

Excellent guide; easy to use. It gives very concrete information which makes it easy for you to choose the appropriate medicine to give your child. Moreover, it offers an excellent explanation on what homeopathic medicine is and its advantages. I highly reccomend it to all those seeking for alternative ways in which to help children's ailments.
