Homegrown House

It takes time to settle into a house, to learn to love it right, to make it feel homegrown. After the boxes are unpacked and the books are shelved (alphabetically), all a young girl wants to do is settle into her house. Grandmom says that it takes time to learn to love a house right, and this young girl is determined for hers to become homegrown. E. B. Lewis's warm, familial scenes pair with Janet S. Beautifully illustrated story about learning to 'love a house right'

What makes a house a home? This is the question a young girl learns to answer in this cozy tale about adapting to change, and coming to love a house as one's home. The young girl in this story is upset by the changes brought on by moving from one place to another. She is unhappy that she has to leave behind dear and familiar things, and her only source of comfort is the conversations she has with her grandmother. Over a period of time, the young girl comes to appreciate Grandmom's words that "it takes time to learn to love a house right." A charming and heartwarming tale complemented by gorgeous watercolor illustrations.
