I was at my mom's recently and she had been given this book by a neighbor. After tabbing over 75% of the pages for myself, I decided to get online to see if I could find a copy for myself (it is several years out of print but still very useful!). I found several copies for sale and had it in my hands within a few days. I look through this book almost everyday and still find things I hadn't seen before, even though I've read it cover to cover several times already! It's packed full of useful information that will keep the average person busy for years.

I found this book at a flea market and I absolutely love it. There are so many all natural products that you can make. The book is divided into sections like, home, beauty, and cooking to name a few. With recipes for everything from dish soap and body wash to homemade jams and crafts. Great for anyone who appreciates handmade, homemade items or for those wanting to go green and limit the chemicals they bring into their home!

I love this book! No, I probably won't make my own toothpaste, but there are recipes for it! Plus sauces from scratch, easy to follow instructions on making jams and jellies, chicken stock, fish stock, fish sauce, lollipops (on a stick!), syrups, eggnog, punch, sorbet, ice cream recipes to die for. Then there are chapters on floor painting, stenciling, appliquing, recovering chaircushions, making picture frames, birdhouses, plant your garden of flowers and herbs, make kids' magnets, knit a sweater, decorate your house. I could go on and on - the reading is interesting and there are many projects to do with kids or grandkids or by yourself. I recommend this for anyone wanting some simplicity in projects and making things from scratch - wanting to do something different - and you don't have to be an expert at any of it. There are even recipes for cosmetics, lip balm, etc. Great gift for the other women in your life like daughters and daughters-in-law and best friends too!
